Kerry Fisher, DVM, CCRP:
Dr. Kerry Fisher graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Throughout her career as a veterinarian, Dr. Fisher has focused on “Pre-hab and Rehab” for animals. While living in Oklahoma, she co-owned a rehabilitation & conditioning facility for horses, dogs and cats.
Dr. Fisher obtained advanced training & certification at the University of Tennessee through the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) program. She certified with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 1995 and the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association in 1998.
Dr. Kerry created & owned one of the first small animal pain management & physical rehabilitation practices, founded in 1996. She’s a pioneer in using FitPAWS® Canine Therapeutic & Conditioning Equipment. She provides in-depth canine rehabilitation, fitness & conditioning, injury prevention and behavior educational seminars and hands-on workshops.
As owner of Canine Rehab ~ Canine Fitness Unleashed!, Dr. Kerry provides canine injury prevention, rehabilitation, sports medicine and behavior services. She has a passion for and experience working with pet, sporting, search & rescue, performance, service, therapy, working and hunting dogs. She uses unique concepts while working with senior canine fitness, puppies, pain management, innovative arthritis management and behavior modification through exercise.
Taking dogs to the next level is an exciting component of Dr. Kerry’s work. Gait analysis and retraining along with functional movement & fitness assessments are key components to her detailed examination and treatment programs. Movement is Living! As an expert canine fitness coach, she creates individualized programs tailored to the needs of the dog and their human. Injury prevention and early identification of soft tissue sprains & strains is critical to canine long-term health and performance!
Dr. Kerry has been involved with bringing canine fitness education to the university level. Dr. Kerry has also lectured for the Japanese Veterinary Rehabilitation Association, the Veterinary University in Mexico and throughout the USA. She also has a passion for research projects involving canine injury prevention, enhancing canine performance and behavior modification.
Dr. Fisher is an athlete herself, enjoying endurance triathlons (Ironman), mountain biking (The Bailey Hundito, a 50 mile mountain bike race with over 30 miles of single track and the Leadville 100 mountain bike race, 104 mile bike race – known as the ‘Race Across the Sky’ at 10,000 feet+ elevation), Ultra Running, Fat biking, bicycle touring, bike packing, backpacking and telemark skiing. She biked, camped and toured 4,000 miles across the Northern Tier of the USA with her yellow Labrador, Mr. Mitchell. As founder of Grit Gals, Kerry shares training tactics for intense races. Human fitness and canine fitness are intertwined – Dr. Fisher is here to help you, your dogs and your patients reach your goals.
